Job Description
Responsible for product design & development; planning and conducting full product development from lab, bench, pilot, and production. With an understanding of liquid, solid, and elastomer chemistry. - Chemical understanding of liquid, solids, and elastomers with the ability to apply knowledge to product opportunities. Ability to learn applicable interfacial chemistry on the job with guidance
- Understanding of colloidal chemistry and complex mixtures consisting of emulsions and suspensions.
- Participate in analytical activities related to raw material assessment, new product development, method development and validation and performs assigned analytical activates to support on-going projects.
- Develop, validate, and perform oscillatory and rotational rheological tests.
- Write and review technical documents including research reports, laboratory notebooks, analytical method development, and method validation protocols.
- Write new work instructions, blending processes, design product and raw material specifications, and take part in varying audits.
- Communicates and prepare presentation reports on testing status, produces timely project updates, develops presentations and reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to troubleshoot and interpret analytical chemistry results as well as understand testing means chosen.
- Identifies and provides recommendations on new technologies to continuously improve R&D/NPD processes and participates in the research of new technologies / instrumentation.
- Participate in developing and setting of new product development goals.
- Provides analysis of technical feasibility for customer backed innovation opportunities under review.
- Able to draft and/or adequately explain to have drafted the need for IP on new products such as Patents or Copyrights for various stakeholders.
- Maintain understanding and serve as a resource on market specific product, process technology, external technical community trends and the competitive intellectual property.
- Maintain working knowledge of all production processes and standard practices.
- Proactively identify opportunities for significant process or product improvements.
- Perform or support test and process method modifications; critical process parameters and analytical performance characteristics. Identify technical alternatives and make risk-based decisions within the area. Use technical data that interacts with multiple areas and processes.
- Provides diverse; independent technical data and insight to support risk management evaluation and assessment.
- Assist in resolution of technical issues and manufacturing issues.
- Presents technical information to internal and external groups. Shares scientific information and expertise as required.
- Manage products and projects thru the complete life cycle.
- Comply with all ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 policies, procedures and practices.
- Able to understand and provide feedback for regulatory concerns for various regions on all products where each product may be sold in.
- Proficient in lab documentation and lab process to design product for manufacturability.
- Find external test centers when a specific test is needed.
- Make literature research and interpret knowledge for possible development applications.

- Nimmt an analytischen Aktivitäten im Zusammenhang mit der Bewertung von Rohstoffen, der Entwicklung neuer Produkte, Methodik Entwicklung und Validierung teil und führt zugewiesene analytische Untersuchngen zur Unterstützung laufender Projekte durch.
