Melitta is a family-owned company with over 100 years of tradition. The Melitta Group operates internationally and offers well-known branded products for the enjoyment of coffee, for coffee preparation and for the home.
The Melitta Europe - Coffee Preparation division produces and sells coffee filters as well as filter coffee machines, kettles, milk frothers, coffee grinders and fully automatic coffee machines.
We are looking for immediate and permanent support
As General Manager and fully integrated partner of the filter coffee supply chain you will plan and steer our operational business and filter coffee machine plant in Shenzhen / China. The position is filled within the framework of a local contract or secondment.
Your tasks in detail
- You elaborate a yearly budget plan and ensure its realization based on operations targets and the business unit’s strategy in agreement with the management board
- You ensure a timely, qualitative and cost-effective production at Shenzhen as well as necessary technology know how and environment to fulfill customer needs on a competitive level
- The development and maintenance of relationships with major customers on portfolio and strategic level is also part of your responsibility
- You develop and implement cost supply strategies and lead and drive cost down initiatives in all areas of responsibility
- You secure local support processes for controlling / financial accounting / IT / HR. as well as efficient communication to the Chief Operating Officer and the process owners in Minden / Germany
- You evolve and implement a safety culture in the organization
- You lead, support, motivate and develop the employees in your area of responsibility with regards to the Melitta company policy and in agreement with HR
You fit to us
- You have your university degree in Engineering or proven track record within a manufacturing and procurement organization
- You have sound professional experience in a general management position within a medium-sized company
- You have experience in the management of a production site (ideally electrical household appliances)
- You have advanced English skills and basic knowledge of the local language is preferred
- You are a leadership personality with hands-on mentality, communication strength and change management skills
