The Department of Mathematics/Computer Science/Physics of Osnabrück University invites applications for the position of a

Research Assistant/PhD (m/f/d)
in the area of non-contact atomic force microscopy (NC-AFM)
(salary group E 13 TV-L, 50 %)

for the duration of 3 years to start November 1, 2024 or earlier.

Your Duties:

• Participation in experimental or simulation research in the field:
  modelling of cantilever dynamics and modelling of the interaction of a tip with a local charge state
• Contribution to teaching at the institute
• Participation in Research while working towards a PhD

Requirements:

• master degree in physics, mathematics or computer science
• proficiency in the German language or the determination to become fluent in German within a short time

Additional Qualifications:

• experience with numerical methods and large computer clusters
