The Inorganic Chemistry: Coordination Chemistry is inviting applications for the following position commencing at

Academic research assistant (m/f/x)

Reference number W2425, salary in accordance with the German TV-L salary scale1, pay grade: E13, employment: 2
years, 100 % of standard working time.

Workplace/Department:
Your ideal project relates to the synthesis of superacidic biscations and radicals of the p-block targeting the
activation of strong bonds and small molecules as well as functional group transfer with metals. The group is
known for research at the interface of Inorganic-, Organic- and Physical chemistry with a focus on synthesis under
inert conditions. Knowledge in computational chemistry is beneficial, yet not required. Applicants interested in

Planning and conducting inorganic and organic chemical synthesis.
Creative advancement of own project,
Evaluation, assessment, presentation and publication of results,

The pay grade assigned to an employee depends on their professional qualifications and the number of years of service. Each pay grade is
further subdivided into levels. Entry-level employees with no previous experience will initially be assigned a level 1 rating. After one year at
level 1 of the E10 pay grade, an employee will move up to level 2. After a further two years, the employee will move to level 3, etc.

Maintaining the working standards in the laboratory, maintenance of equipment,
Co-Supervision / Teamwork with graduate students.

Your academic qualifications:
Doctoral degree / PhD in Chemistry or equivalent.

The successful candidate will also be expected to:
Experience in handling air-sensitive compounds,
Experience in standard chemical analysis (NMR, MS, IR, etc.),
Knowledge in computational chemistry beneficial, yet not required,
Curiosity, enthusiasm and motivation to acquire and generate new knowledge and advance science,
Good team spirit and collaborative team player, creativity, high level of commitment,
German skills are an advantage, yet not required,
