About the role

You will join our rapidly expanding data practice and will be part of our multi-disciplined teams, building Generative AI-based solutions for clients. You’ll work very closely with our customers to iterate, experiment, and prototype solutions for their business challenges. This role will require a strong consultative approach coupled with critical thinking and hands-on data science expertise. You’ll be a key leader in this team, with significant customer exposure, taking them on the journey from early adoption through to scale. You’ll be able to help our customers navigate from GenAI through to data platform, cloud infrastructure, and business consulting, and you will be the anchor of the relationship with our customers, so speaking with empathy and credibility will be key.

You are expected to have implemented Gen AI solutions, using exploratory data analysis and data wrangling skills to get the most out of existing LLM models. And you’ll need to keep up in a rapidly evolving landscape, ensuring our technical solutions remain relevant and up to date.

Skills and experience required

A data science background, likely with NLP experience
Several years of experience in a client-facing, consulting role
Key techniques in Gen AI implementation including NLP, word embedding, RAG, model grounding and hyperparameter tuning, prompt engineering
Proficiency in Python with an ability to rapidly and independently prototype and develop code, as well as deliver production-quality code
Experience with Azure data technologies would be nice to have but not essential
Applying data science logic and thinking to breaking down business problems into technical solutions
Prompt flow, LangChain and other latest orchestration tooling is a good plus

What you will do

Understand client requests and business processes to propose how GenAI may solve business challenges
Extensive prompt engineering
Prompt chaining and prompt-flows
Resource Augmented Generation (RAG) including optimisation of chunking and metadata
Function call integration to teach GenAI “new skills”
Follow Responsible AI principles
Rapidly develop customer demonstrations to show the art of the possible with GenAI
Play a key role in continuing to evolve Ascent’s GenAI capability and collateral
