Construction Department
The Construction team is responsible for the entire process flow of delivering the physical data centers from shovel ready state through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, and management along the way. Construction implements and executes upon the work product developed by the Development & Engineering (D&E) team. The team also manages Vantage’s build partners to success through technical feedback and review, and actively participating in review of schedule and budget. Many times, a role like this at other companies is purely oversight. One thing that distinguishes Vantage is that our construction teams are given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. When compared to external resources, our internal team can ensure the key stakeholders are engaged in the decision-making process to align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.
Position Description
Vantage is looking for an ambitious Cost Manager to drive excellence in commercial management, systems use, standardisation, and coordination efforts across a wide spectrum of ongoing construction projects. Accountable for the cost management teams outputs, to ensure auditable and controlled management of commercial contracts Must be able to foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
This role is based in Frankfurt.
Essential Job Functions

Ensure all construction contract commercial practices, payments and contract management meet the legal requirements to protect the company in each operating environment

Ensuring change control is implemented correctly on projects and the VDC company policy and accounting procedures are followed

Ensuring interim applications and invoicing support payments to meet all regulatory and contractual obligations

Responsible for the targeted improvement workstreams, as selected by the Senior Construction Services Director

To triage any disputes arising from construction, consultancy and supply contracts, and provide a summary report and recommendation

Ensure risk workshops are held as expected, and that costs and time impacts are calculated using sound principles
-
Ensure cashflow information is calculated from sound principles, including change or latest schedule delays and associated liabilities

Ensure construction project cost management services align to the most up to date Vantage systems, tools and processes

Attend the pre-start workshops for the VDC construction management team, prior to GC contract award and set our expectations for commercial and change management

Asist with the auditing and quality inspections of commercial management services to highlight gaps, focusing on compliance, best practice and engagement across group

Lead continuous improvement feedback workshops at project completion to identify and communicate opportunities for enhancement, to promote best practice and reduce risk

Lead or attend steering groups linked to Performance improvement in areas allocated by the Senior Construction Services Director

Contribute to the development of, and facilitate use of company DEC tools and policy across all live projects as allocated by the Senior Constriction Services Director

Identification and implementation of improvement solutions working alongside the accounting departments.
