The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research institutions throughout Germany and is the world’s leading applied research organization. Around 30 000 employees work with an annual research budget of 2.9 billion euros.
Adaptivity is an indispensable property for the networked world of tomorrow. Intelligent components can detect and evaluate changes in the environment or in the system itself and adapt to them independently. As a partner of industry, Fraunhofer IIS/EAS develops key technologies for adaptive systems with about 100 employees at the Dresden site and offers innovative technologies and robust solutions.
In this environment, we characterize semiconductor structures using electrical measurements on wafer probers with a focus on reliability aspects of integrated transistors.
You are looking for new challenges and want to complement your studies with practical experience? Then we have the right position for you.
What you do with us
We offer a position as a student assistant or intern for the introduction of a new measurement software. You will
- familiarize yourself with the characterization of semiconductors on wafer probers,
- prepare the existing measurement setup for using the new measurement software,
- transfer existing measurement routines to the new measurement software,
- test the new software in detail and carry out measurements
- interpret the results and record them in a manual.
What you bring along
- a very careful and thorough way of working
- you have in-depth knowledge of the structure and behavior of semiconductor components
- you have basic programming skills and solid English skills
- you have initial laboratory experience, preferably in the analysis of semiconductors
What you can expect
- Flexibility in working hours and varied tasks
- close, collegial cooperation in a committed and interdisciplinary development team
